Description

GNSS Low-Noise Amplifier with Band-Pass Filter (Built & Tested Unit)

  •   50 Ohms in/out SMA port

  •    For Passive or Active GPS Antenna (it can pass DC to your antenna)

  •    Supplied encased, built & tested

  •   Works with 3.3 or 5 VDC receivers

  •   With additional notch function at cell-phone frequencies

The GPS signal is very weak at the Earth's surface. Imagine what happens when you have an interferring cell-phone tower in your neighborhood!

This module inserts a passive band-pass minimum loss filter followed by an ultra-low-noise amplifier followed by an additional band-pass filter, in order to eliminate most unwanted energy. Additional notch filters are added tuned at tower frequencies. The net gain is 10 dB.

Combine it with our GNSS band-pass filter unit - check the last picture!

The DC power needed is 3...5VDC- 20 mA.
The DC power is applied on the feedthrough capacitor (the + lead) and the terminal post for the ground.
The DC voltage also appears at the antenna input connector, so in the case your antenna is active it will receive power.
If your receiver outputs DC power for an active antenna, then no other supply is needed. You can leave the feedthrough not connected. You can measure your receiver's voltage there on the feedthrough capacitor to check.
